Happy Easter from Majuro!

Happy Easter! On Easter I facetimed with my family and that was definitely my highlight. I am so grateful for technology! On Easter Sunday we had our Fast & Testimony meeting at church and a member of our Stake Presidency sang a few lines from Amazing Grace in his testimony. It was so beautiful! It is amazing how Jesus Christ loves us all so much that he died for us. He took away the sting of death and gave us the greatest gift. He is risen is a promise to each of us. He lives!

This week-end was also General Conference week-end but not here in the Marshall Islands. We wait until the conference gets translated into Marshallese to watch it. It might be this Sunday or next week. I was able to enjoy some of it on my laptop until the power went out. We have had some crazy weather with power outages over the past couple of days. Yesterday it was out for 14 hours. We have a generator at the mission office so we could still carry on. The storm blew lots of trees down. The power is back on so I hope it stays on.

I found this cool article in the local Marshall Islands Journal last week! I love this newspaper and I read it faithfully every week. The headline says “Ajeltake Community Development Association expresses gratitude to Government of Canada for support to Rural Livelihood Project.” I was so excited to read that Canada was supporting sustainable development efforts here on the Marshall Islands. It is empowering people to help themselves. One of the biggest blessings on this island is coconuts and the government of Canada donated copra drying equipment. Go Canada! I don’t know if you will be able to read the article but I am sharing a photo of it.

I hope you have the best week!
