SIt was another busy week ending with the arrival of a new senior missionary couple. These past 6 weeks have been crazy trying to keep up with all the demands. I am so excited that Elder& Sister Rhoades have arrived and I can see the sun shining through the clouds.
I learned a valuable lesson this week! Sometimes I think when everything is going well that I am doing God’s will but I have learned that accepting things when they are not going well or what I expect is really when I am tested to truly accept God’s will. I have learned that maybe the way we see success is not the way Heavenly Father sees success. I am so grateful for a beautiful young sister from Tonga who shared her experiences with me from her heart and taught me this valuable lesson. She is amazing and part of my heart will go home with her when she returns to Tonga. I love serving with our young missionaries. Their faith, courage, devotion and trust in God are inspiring.
On Saturday night I celebrated my birthday by attending the Miss Marshall Islands Pageant. It was so fun to share the experience with friends. The evening was filled with culture. There were 13 contestants from 13 different Atolls in the Marshall Islands. From the centerpieces on the tables made from pandamus leaves holding salted fish, coconut and dried breadfruit chips to the stories of each traditional dress that contestants modelled and the music shared all told a story of a nation of people who have pride in their culture, are resilient, and have respect for their ancestors and their God. It was such a privilege to be able to attend.I hope you have a great week!
